Organizational Meeting of the Board of Directors
The Board of Directors met on April 21, 2001 for its initial meeting.
Bylaws were established and officers were elected. (See links below).
While the IISOH President and Treasurer had breakfast Tuesday morning, September 11, 2001
to discuss the first press release and public announcement of this Institute with our endowment plans
our fellow citizens were subjected to a terrorist attack in New York and Washington.
Not far from State College another plane went down with all passengers aboard, in an
apparent attempt to wrest control of the plane from the hijackers. We are overwhelmed with emotions
that such hatred can exist in our world. We applaud the incredible bravery and courage
of all those who fought back aboard the doomed flight and those on the ground who attempted
to rescue the thousands inside burning buildings.

We delayed our public announcement to the media until October
when the Centre Daily Times printed our first press release.
